The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in association with the Severn Deanery and SCRUBS, The University of Bristol Surgical Society invite all medical students and foundation doctors with an interest in surgery to submit abstracts for the National Conference for Aspiring Surgeons. Attendance is £15 which will include lunch and refreshments. All attendees and presenters will receive a certificate for their portfolio.

 

 

Oral/Poster Presentation

 

Abstracts should be no more than 150 words and can be related to any surgical speciality. They will be divided into the following catagories:

 

Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery

General Surgery

Musculoskeletal and Plastics

Neurosurgery/ Opthalmology/ ENT

Paediatric Surgery and Urology

 

Abstracts will be judged by a panel of surgeons and then selected based on content, originality and quality amongst other things.

 

Oral presentations are limited to 7 minutes with 3 minutes of questions.

 

A prize will be awarded to the best poster and oral presentation in each catagory.
