SCRUBS is the University of Bristol Surgical Society. The first two years of medical school are almost entirely lecture based and provide you with very little opportunity to get a taste of the practical side of medicine.
SCRUBS hold regular workshops where you can learn and practise skills such as suturing which will be invaluable to you as junior doctors. We also organise clinically orientated anatomy lectures which aim to consolidate your anatomy teaching whilst at the same time demonstrate how what you learn can be applied clinically. For those interested in a career in surgery we hold an annual careers evening and conference which allow you to meet and present your work to both surgical trainees and consultants who can give you the necessary advice to start tailoring your CV for a career in surgery. Members get priority entry and discount to all our events so sign up today!
